For one year I will be serving with MCC's SALT program in Kenya. Here I will be the Conservation Agriculture Extension Assistant for a local NGO, SASOL. The plan is that I will be assisting field staff in conservation agriculture (CA) training, crop marketing, savings as well as documenting and writing stories on farmers experiences.
With the combination of the heart of international ministry and the experience and love for farming led me to MCC's work in food security. In Kenya I will be working with the Kamba people where drought is a high risk and agriculture the main livelihood. CA promotes farming methods that help crop security.
My hope is to learn and love. To learn about the work of SASOL, learn what the Kamba people have to teach me, and learn what the Lord will teach me. And love those I will be working with and encountering along this journey.
